 箴27:1 不要為明日自誇、因為一日要生何事、你尚且不能知道。
  Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.
 箴27:2 要別人誇獎你、不可用口自誇.等外人稱讚你、不可用嘴自稱。
  Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; a stranger, and not thine own lips.
 箴27:3 石頭重、沙土沉、愚妄人的惱怒、比這兩樣更重。
  A stone is heavy, and the sand weighty; but a fool's wrath is heavier than them both.
 箴27:4 忿怒為殘忍、怒氣為狂瀾、惟有嫉妒、誰能敵得住呢。
  Wrath is cruel, and anger is outrageous; but who is able to stand before envy?
 箴27:5 當面的責備、強如背地的愛情。
  Open rebuke is better than secret love.
 箴27:6 朋友加的傷痕出於忠誠.仇敵連連親嘴、卻是多餘。
  Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.
 箴27:7 人喫飽了、厭惡蜂房的蜜.人飢餓了、一切苦物都覺甘甜。
  The full soul loatheth an honeycomb; but to the hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet.
 箴27:8 人離本處飄流、好像雀鳥離窩遊飛。
  As a bird that wandereth from her nest, so is a man that wandereth from his place.
 箴27:9 膏油與香料、使人心喜悅.朋友誠實的勸教、也是如此甘美。
  Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart: so doth the sweetness of a man's friend by hearty counsel.
 箴27:10 你的朋友、和父親的朋友、你都不可離棄.你遭難的日子、不要上弟兄的家去.相近的鄰舍、強如遠方的弟兄。
  Thine own friend, and thy father's friend, forsake not; neither go into thy brother's house in the day of thy calamity: for better is a neighbour that is near than a brother far off.
 箴27:11 我兒、你要作智慧人、好叫我的心歡喜、使我可以回答那譏誚我的人。
  My son, be wise, and make my heart glad, that I may answer him that reproacheth me.
 箴27:12 通達人見禍藏躲.愚蒙人前往受害。
  A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself; but the simple pass on, and are punished.
 箴27:13 誰為生人作保、就拿誰的衣服.誰為外女作保、誰就承當。
  Take his garment that is surety for a stranger, and take a pledge of him for a strange woman.
 箴27:14 清晨起來、大聲給朋友祝福的、就算是咒詛他。
  He that blesseth his friend with a loud voice, rising early in the morning, it shall be counted a curse to him.
 箴27:15 大雨之日連連滴漏、和爭吵的婦人一樣.
  A continual dropping in a very rainy day and a contentious woman are alike.
 箴27:16 想攔阻他的、便是攔阻風、也是右手抓油。
  Whosoever hideth her hideth the wind, and the ointment of his right hand, which bewrayeth itself.
 箴27:17 鐵磨鐵、磨出刃來.朋友相感、〔原文作磨朋友的臉〕也是如此。
  Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
 箴27:18 看守無花果樹的、必喫樹上的果子.敬奉主人的、必得尊榮。
  Whoso keepeth the fig tree shall eat the fruit thereof: so he that waiteth on his master shall be honoured.
 箴27:19 水中照臉、彼此相符.人與人、心也相對。
  As in water face answereth to face, so the heart of man to man.
 
箴27:20 陰間和滅亡、永不滿足.人的眼目、也是如此。
  Hell and destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never satisfied.
 箴27:21 鼎為煉銀、爐為煉金、人的稱讚也試煉人。
  As the fining pot for silver, and the furnace for gold; so is a man to his praise.
 箴27:22 你雖用杵、將愚妄人與打碎的麥子一同搗在臼中、他的愚妄還是離不了他。
  Though thou shouldest bray a fool in a mortar among wheat with a pestle, yet will not his foolishness depart from him.
 箴27:23 你要詳細知道你羊群的景況.留心料理你的牛群。
  Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks, and look well to thy herds.
 箴27:24 因為貲財不能永有.冠冕豈能存到萬代。
  For riches are not for ever: and doth the crown endure to every generation?
 箴27:25 乾草割去、嫩草發現、山上的菜蔬、也被收斂。
  The hay appeareth, and the tender grass sheweth itself, and herbs of the mountains are gathered.
 箴27:26 羊羔之毛、是為你作衣服.山羊是為作田地的價值.
  The lambs are for thy clothing, and the goats are the price of the field.
 箴27:27 並有母山羊奶彀你喫、也彀你的家眷喫、且彀養你的婢女。
  And thou shalt have goats' milk enough for thy food, for the food of thy household, and for the maintenance for thy maidens.
